Who is Afraid of Microsoft? | Computerworld Blogs:

We all have our fun and bash Microsoft but WSS 2003 supports two of the most important technologies that I have been touting for the last year or so.

I'm not one of those foaming at the mouthlinks anti-Microsoft zealots, but I am a fan of open source technologies. We have an earlier Windows 2003 based storage system at work, and I must say that all it's really done so far is re-enforce my beliefs that technically superior solutions are available for less money and work reliably with less hassle.

Two new features in WSS 2003 may turn that opinion around... at least until other vendors catch up: Single instance storage, and in-built search facilities.
