Web Storage - Who can you trust?

Just yesterday I wrote about some web-enabled storage sharing. It was funny, after I wrote that piece I felt a little bad about slamming the company and being a bit cautious.

Sometimes your gut tells a larger story than any technical jumbo/lingo can force upon you. AND it seems, not only should you be cautious about the up-and-comer but also those that have been around for quite some time. It seems HP has suspended its Upline (web-based storage) service. I did go out to the upline.com site and buried a few screens down there was the message 'The HP Upline Service is temporarily unavailable'.

I just hope not too many people try and sign up. As I can imagine, like myself, how many will dis-trust giving their precious documents and photos of Baby Jane to unknown management practices. You know, we will probably never know what the issue was that brought down this service. AND that makes matters worse. If you read some of the posts about this service you will also find out that it was supposed to be for US based users. BUT somehow those outside the US were able to create accounts. So here is my final word: If it sounds or feels clunky, it usually is.
