This is a mezzanine card which is installed in blades of HP in the c3000 and c7000 BladeSystem enclosures. It gets installed on each blade and can be termed as the specialized version of the FusionIO card. It does not act as a catalyst in storage performance for other storage in the system like the Adaptec MaxIQ and you just need one per blade rather than one per enclosure.
It gives a fantastic performance with over 600MBps on writes and 800MBps on reads and gives extremely high IOps and extremely low latencies with no drop in performance during extended write tests. The higher performance can be attributed to the MLC-based flash used in the 320GB version whereas the 160GB versions are SLC based. This HP card does not need 64 bit OS, is not expandable and does not operate as a boot device.
