The Arrival of Desktop Terabytes
Personal computer users - your data storage nirvanalinks is here. Hitachi has announced the arrival of the first one-terabyte hard drive for personal computers. The Deskstar 7K100 drive is a 7200 rpm disk that can hold a whopping amount of data - one-third million photos, two years worth of music files, 125 movies and even 80 camcorder files. Finding files amid all that space won't be difficult - the drive tested well, taking only 513 seconds perform scripted tasks such as searching and converting files.
