Quantum, StorageTek end patent fight
"Quantum and Sun Microsystems subsidiary StorageTek have settled their three-year patent Dispute and entered into a cross-licensing agreement, according to a statement issued Wednesday."
Quantum end up paying $25 million over the next year and a half, and the companies each agree to license a limited number of each other's patents.
Sounds to me like Quantum realised they were in the wrong, but managed to save some face, and the hassle of a court battle they'd probably have lost. $45 mil? Pocket change!
