It is good to be here, writing my first post, and venturing down this path of presenting what storage is, how we accomplish it, and where it is going.
What is Storage - Literally the place a computer system places information for future retrieval.
What is Storage NOT - While the picture of this hay barn is not the type of storage we will typically be talking about, it does have some interesting similarities.
- Some of the hay is stacked quite nicely and easily accessible
- There is empty space, willing to be filled with additional hay
- There is hay not well kept and in danger of being damaged
- The structure seems to be 'open-source'
- There may be some area of concern to security breaches as hay prices continue to rise and theft is eliminate
- ...hope you get the picture
It is my desire to bring storage to you in a way that informs everyone. From those that are just entering the field of storage, might need some help on the consumer side, or are seasoned veterans that might just help us all.
Please visit often, comment on what you see, and let's have some fun.
factoid: Not every vendor produces their own storage equipment, visit LSI to look at one company that OEMs to some companies you wouldn't think of

looks like that hay has been lying around a bit. it even has some grass growing inbetween. maybe a datawarehouse or off-line storage system.
