Well, whaddayaknow, google isn't the only game in town. Not that they're in town yet.
Reader Nate dropped me a note to let me know that Mozy is offering 2 gig per Month for free, which sounds like a pretty good way to keep a goodly number of documents backed up. 30 gig is only US$4.95 a month, which isn't too shabby either.
Serendipitously, today I also stumbled across Jungle Disk, that uses Amazon S3 storage. While 2 gig isn't free there, it does only cost you about US$0.34 a month (according to their nifty little calculator). According to the same calculator, 100 gig (with transfers of 10 gig) would only cost me US$17 a month, which strikes me as *amazingly* cheap, and something I'm giving serious consideration to for backing up my digital photos.
Two online storage systems dropped in my lap in a matter of hours - makes me wonder what else is out there...
