New Tape Apps from Overland
Overland Storage, Inc. announces its new appliance – the REOâ„¢ 4500, the latest addition to its next-generation REO series of versatile, disk-based backup, recovery and virtual tape library (VTL) appliances. According to an Overland press release, the REO 4500 is engineered for improved performance and reliability with a new hardware platform, increased speed, greater capacity as well as advanced VTL functionality.
REO's latest offering also supports industry-leading capabilities and functionality, including:
- State-of-the-art SAS RAID controller
- Dual 4 Gb/s Fibre Channel and iSCSI host connectivity
- Up to 27 TBs of raw data capacity
- User-definable VTL with up to six library partitions, up to 32 virtual tape drives and up to 512 virtual cartridges;
- RAID 5 protection
- Dual hot-swap power supplies
- Secure web-based management for simplified set-up and proactive monitoring
