NetApp Unveils High-End SAN Systems:
In an attempt to boost its high-end storage business, Network Appliance Inc. today is slated to bring out two storage-area network products.
The new FAS6030 and the FAS6070 arrays have capacities of up to 420TB and 504TB, respectively, and support up to 16 Fibre Channel ports
That's some impressive numbers, right there.
From a company (First American Bank):
"When we went to voice over IP and our voice mail started coming into our e-mail box, our e-mail storage doubled in 30 days,"
You know how your personal expenditure seems to grow until it meets your income level? I think storage is like that – your needs for storage tend to grow to meet your storage budget. Realistically though, as storage gets cheaper and cheaper, you can afford to store more – storing your voicemail messages becomes affordable rather than unthinkable, archiving all your email 'just in case' isn't that much of a hassle any more.
