It's baaack – Xiotech, the spun-off entity of Seagate's 1999 acquisition is now back to gobble up the intellectual property rights of Seagate. After Seagate spun the company off in 2002, Xiotech has built its e-discovery business, and now has acquired the Advanced Storage Architecture (ASA) business along with a few key executives: Ellen Lary, who was serving as a technical consultant to the technical group within Seagate, and Steve Sicola, who was general manager of the group at Seagate according to a SearchStorage.com news report.
The hope is that ASA group will enhance Xiotech's revenue. When remains to be seen, but the mechanisms are now in place.

ASA is an amazing technology, revolutionary if applied to the right problem. Best of luck to Xiotech with this diamond in the rough!
