At CES this week, SanDisk introduced the one-click SanDisk Ultra Backup USB flash drive, with capacities of up to 64GB.
"As you can probably imagine, this kind of solution is designed for people who don't want to manually back up their documents and don't want to mess with potentially complicated-looking software," writes Mobile Mag's Michael Kwan. "All you do is insert the SanDisk Ultra Backup flash drive into an available USB port, hit the backup button, and the drive takes care of the rest."
"Since the SanDisk Ultra Backup USB product line only runs to 64GB for now, we're not sure how useful they'll be for the average user's hard drive, which is now surely well past 128GB in size for laptops and a lot more than that for desktops," notes Register Hardware's Tony Smith. "That said, the drive does encrypt backed up data with both password protection and hardware-based 128-bit AES encryption."
