HP Sues Acer
It's tough keeping up with the Joneses, especially when your professional life depends on it. Technology changes at lightning speed, and as a result, companies get caught up in legal arguments involving patented technology. Such is the case with Acer and HP. HP alleges that Acer has infringed on five of HP's patents, including technology for DVD editing, processing and power consumption. HP calls the lawsuit a move to "protect its intellectual propertylinks against illegal use." Acer declined comment. HP contends that patents were infringed upon between 1997 and 2003.
