Fusion-io this week introduced the ioDrive Duo, which the company claims is the world's fastest SSD.
"Fusion-io's original ioDrive was stupid fast, but the next generation makes even that look pathetic," writes Gizmodo's Sean Fallon. "Try 1.5GB sustained read speeds and 1.4GB sustained write speeds. Yeah, let that sink in for a minute."
"It doubles the slot capacity of the company's PCI Express-based ioDrive, providing solutions in 160GB, 320GB, 640GB and 1.28TB sizes," writes SlipperyBrick's Conner Flynn. "The whole lot can sustain 1.5 Gbytes/sec of read bandwidth and nearly 200,000 read IOPS, with sustained write bandwidth measuring in at 1400 MB/sec and latency under 50 µsec. No word on price, but it would be way way up there. Thousands. Tens of thousands. Twenties of thousands..."
More here from Ubergizmo ... more here from Electronista ... more here from Fudzilla ... more here from SlashGear ... more here from DVICE ... more here from CNET ... and the press release is here.
