
F-Secure Corporation recently announced its acquisition of French online storage software provider Steek SA, for €27.5 million (approximately $38.4 million).
"Steek offers integrated online multimedia data storage, file sharing, and automated backup solutions to individuals and SMEs," writes TechCrunch's Robin Wauters.
"Steek's technology is designed to allow users to upload data from either PCs or mobile phones," explains The Register's John Leyden. "Bordeaux-based Steek already partners with mobile telcos (including Virgin Media, SFR in France and SingTel), a factor which F-Secure hopes will increase its ability to sell Software as a Service (SaaS) technology packages through operators..."
