Historically, Microsoft hasn't really pulled its business offerings together. Its strategy has resembled a bit of "Oh! Here's something" mixed with "Hey, people are buying these..." So news that the company is now showing a more organized business strategy with news of its overhaul of the entire Microsoft BI product line comes with a bit of relief from those of us left to purchase their products.

Gone is the ProClarity name. Microsoft's Office PerformancePoint Server 2007 absorbs the ProClarity technology, and goes a long way in bringing integration to Microsoft's other business offerings, which to date haven't played well together.
