How to get the speed you need without sacrificing the budget? The need for high-speed access to data generated by all sorts of electronic means is a huge demand. Direct Attached Storage (DAS) is limiting, but is a sensibly priced alternative. Then there's network storage, where moving to networked storage means dealing with block data and applications that require storage area network (SAN) technology.

So which is best for you - SAN or DAS? One of our favorite gurus of technology, Adaptec, has put together a free white paper that spells out the choice for you. It's a sensible layout of both technologies, and could go a long way to helping you make the correct decision. To read the paper, visit the Ziff Davis web site.
