Beyond the Wall
Sharing information outside the firewall - the thought is enough to melt the resolve of the toughest IT manager. That's because the door is wide open to hacker compromise. Yet web-based collaboration means opening the door to both the good guys and the bad guys.

Fear not - EMC has developed an Information Rights Management (IRM) service that is purported to be safe, easy to use and tough to compromise. EMC Documentum eRoom is a virtual workspace and a secure work environment. Also, using eRoom allows companies to reduce email usage during collaborations. What's neat is that once the files are moved from eRoom to the users' desktops, the IRM service protects the data, and allows the company to track and control of the data from where that data is residing.
