Adaptec and NAS Servers
Everything you've always wanted to know about network attached storage systems, but were reluctant to ask - that's what's presented in Adaptec's Snap Server NAS Performance Study. Adaptec commissioned VeriTest to study four different NAS servers - two Adaptec servers, one Dell server and one HP server. The servers were all tested using NetBench 7.0.3 and are as follows: Snap Server 550; Snap Server 520; Dell PowerVault 745N; and Hewlett Packard DL100 G2.

The Adaptec servers came out on top - go figure! Yet the study is worth reading if only to see what each server has to offer. It does serve as a good comparison document of the features of each server. You can download the results at the Ziff Davis website.
